I mean Hong Joo made sure to cover all their bases before meeting with Jaechan tbh. Also, in her and Wootak’s dreams he was stabbed NOT SHOT. Their theories on who might go after Jaechan was a huge fan of the female Olympian who died or Hak Young..there was mentions of her father..but they did not prioritize him cuz they thought Hak Young was the guy in the dream. So they did everything to prevent him for doing something stupid. They prevented the fan by proving it Hak Young’s innocence so that guy did not go after Jaechan. So the father was free to take out his anger on Jaechan and shot him. As was mentioned, in the end of the episode about changing the future..something else will take place or change things. So because they did not check every detail including the father of the Olympian, Jaechan still gets severely hurt just like in Hong Joo and Woo Tak’s dreams.

Hong Joo has been seeing dreams all along - related and unrelated.. but sees more of jaechan after the accident.. and WooTak too after he's stabbed saving her..
