queuing up posts + bluesky news

hey folks, I'm sorry again for falling behind on posting here, I got my ass beat by a series of internet outages and computer hardware failures that made me fall super far behind on my stream commission queue, so i've just been keeping my head down and focusing on streaming art a lot.

It's been tough to motivate myself to keep up with posting hi-res and timelapse files when they don't get much direct feedback so I'm not really sure if they matter to my followers, and it's still a struggle to keep up with posting my art at all since I've been working so much - but the recent Twitter debacle where they're going to feeding everything into the AI slop machine, in addition to making blocks ineffective, has me posting on my Bluesky a lot more now, and I find that it compresses my art a bit more than Twitter does, which has me feeling like hi-res posts on Patreon are a bit more useful now. I'll keep posting to Twitter, but I'm gonna lower the image quality and apply a bigger watermark whenever I do, and plug my Bluesky for the unwatermarked version. So I guess I feel more of a practical need for having a place to share my hi-res art files, so it'll be easier to push past feeling kinda mopey about their appeal

I'm gonna try to get into a ritual of posting my completed work here each day right after I'm done streaming, just makes the most sense so I quit forgetting to post stuff.

After it's posted here on Patreon, my next stop now is Bluesky, as I've really been enjoying the vibes there without as many of the headaches of Twitter. Twitter and FurAffinity will be my 3rd or 4th stop depending on my mood. I'm also starting to post on Tumblr again fwiw, they have the easiest post queuing system so I just drop of a few standout posts over the last few months every week or so.

I still feel like it's kind of clumsy and cumbersome to post twice for every piece of art, once for first looks for the $2 tier and once for the $5 tier with hi-res & timelapse, so I'll try to think of some tidier approaches in the future... but I'm just gonna keep doing it for now since it's the best approach I've got.

But also, I have a favor to ask - if you're actively checking my patreon posts and see a piece that really does it for you, I'd really appreciate it if you gave it a like or left a comment on it! I generally avoid begging for interaction, but it's kind of tedious for me to post things the way I do, but I also want to keep it up if it meets the expectations of people willing to throw me a few bucks a month, and getting some feedback would help me a lot with staying motivated to post it in a timely manner and not get so mopey about whether or not anybody's actually getting any value out of my posting here.

My money situation has been really tight for the last few months, and it's about to stay tight because of my tax repayment plan I'm trying to get set up, so I haven't had the free time to work on my game projects... but I'm hopeful that with Bluesky becoming the first stop for a lot of furries now, I can plug my Patreon more freely again and maybe get some more extra income here if I keep up good posting habits and connect with people who enjoy my work that much.

Anyways, thanks again everybody supporting me here! I will continue to persevere and keep up my end to deliver worthwhile stuff!!

Good suggestions, Patreon is def the best place for me to yap a bit about my thoughts on a piece - if I can force myself to write alt text for every post on Bluesky, I'm sure i can take an extra minute to dump my thoughts on the process too. I'd put that on the $5 tier since I tend to get weepy and personal about my innermost art thoughts. I am gonna keep posting timelapses with each hi-res post since it's only a couple seconds more to upload em, but I could def do some catch-up timelapse collections of pieces I missed earlier in the year so patrons don't have to wait until my next annual artpack to see em.

I really like the timelapses and they've been great in using them to learn from.

Only new to following you on here, but will try to remember to comment! Maybe special things like time-lapses would be nice as an end/start of month thing, where you post just one for your favourite piece of the month, or for one that was difficult/interesting for you? Pair that post with a bit of self-reflection on that one project, or the things you did or didn't like about how it turned out. Something like that could still end up being a lot of work for you I suppose, but maybe not as much as whatever your current setup is?
