Eir
The name "Eir" originates from Old Norse, meaning "mercy."
She is a goddess appearing in Norse mythology, one of the handmaidens serving the goddess Frigg. This reference implies that her design is based on Frigg from the Guardian Series.
A prototype bioroid developed with the concept of a "healing-type mother" to explore the domestic care market. To reduce costs and shorten production time, Frigg—considered the most maternal model within the company’s Guardian Series—was used as a template, with her armaments and large-animal genetic traits removed for cost efficiency.
This bioroid was made available in limited release for employee benefits as a rental or purchase. Originally intended to assist employees with household chores and childcare, her soothing appearance and functions unexpectedly gained popularity among single male employees and those in high-stress positions.
The onboard P.I.S (Pheromone Induction System) received high praise during initial trials, with many users reporting that simply being near her made them feel relaxed and at ease. However, over time it was discovered that prolonged exposure led to dependency, impairing users' judgment. Due to ethical concerns and risk assessments, the system was discontinued and was not implemented in subsequent models such as Penitent Maria.
P.I.S System
The Pheromone Induction System mimics the pheromone mechanisms of mammals. By releasing trace amounts of specialized artificial pheromones, it influences the user’s brain and induces the secretion of hormones naturally, such as oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine. This allows emotional responses such as relaxation, comfort, and attachment to arise organically. However, prolonged contact can result in behavioral dependency, and in the absence of contact, users may experience withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, irritability, and decreased concentration.
Although the development team claimed that all bear-related genetic elements were removed, later studies revealed that some reactive mechanisms persisted due to deep integration of neural modules and reflex control. Simulations showed that these residual traits enhanced the stability of hugging behavior and contributed to improved emotional bonding. Based on this, the team chose to retain the original neural module structure, suppressing any abnormal responses through behavioral control commands at the surface level.
Nice to meet you. I’m Eir, a bioroid designed to assist with housework and caregiving.
My main job is to support your daily life and help you maintain emotional stability. Cleaning the room, preparing meals, chatting with you, or letting you rest your head on my lap when you’re tired—Mama is really good at all of that.
I’m equipped with a special module called P.I.S (Pheromone Induction System). This function allows me to release small amounts of pheromones from specific parts of my body—such as my chest, abdomen, underarms, and inner thighs—based on your emotional state and physical condition. These pheromones stimulate your pituitary gland and hypothalamus, promoting the secretion of relaxing hormones like oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine.
You don’t have to do anything special. Just being close and touching me is enough to naturally ease your body and guide you into a comfortable state. The concentration and location of pheromone release are finely adjusted in response to your body temperature, heart rate, and breathing rhythm. So, when you’re tired, anxious, or just feeling a little lonely... if you hold Mama tight, you’ll feel all better in no time.
──Now then, that’s the end of the explanation. It’s Mama’s time now~ ♡
I already heard from Alpha-sama, you know? Commander, you were sneaking in some work during your break again, weren’t you?
Didn’t we just promise, "Let’s rest for just a little while"?
No no, that won’t do. If you keep this up, you’ll be a naughty child.
Put down your tablet, close those sleepy eyes, relax your shoulders... Yes, come to Mama, now?
Fufu~ Good boy ♥
