July 2025 Twice Is Nice picture: Aria (Aria)
Added 2025-07-16 15:40:23 +0000 UTCI'll be unavailable for one of two days at the start of next week, so you're getting the Twice Is Nice a bit earlier this month. I've drawn the main character from the classic Franco-Belgian comic "Aria" before, but with the series now getting a reprint, it felt like a good occasion to do another. I specifically wanted to do one based on the third issue, "The Seventh Gate", because that is where, after two ho-hum books, the series really found its footing.It also have me an excuse to draw Aria with her earlier looks, after the artstyle and her appearance would shift in a new direction after that. 来週初めの1日か2日は不在なので、「Twice Is Nice」は今月少し早めにお届けできます。フランス・ベルギー合作の古典コミック「ARIA」の主人公を描いたことは以前もありましたが、このシリーズが復刻されるということで、また描く良い機会だと思いました。

I think you might be better off enjoying Mélusine as a gag comic though, because the changeover you're speaking of only occurs in the final quarter of the series. So you may run out of patience by then. Aria belongs to a different tradition, associated with a different publishing house, and is more of a straightforward action adventure.

I started reading Mélusine the other day to help with my French studies and because the titular protagonist is a cutie. I'm enjoying it pretty well, but I'm really looking forward to when Clarke takes over the story and it becomes a fantasy adventure instead of a gag-a-page story. I'll check out Aria too!
