Added 2023-08-17 09:14:41 +0000 UTCHey friends. Here is a bts video of me using one of my favorite light solutions for simple but effective light on the model. I use Zhiyun light with 40watt power - a portable baterry light.
In this video I use new Zhiyun Molus 40watt light. It is powerful enough to shoot under 800-1600 iso and 1/125s second on 2.8-4 aperture (depending on distance to the model) and very light, but the battery gets drained pretty quickly in comparison with similar less powerful lights I used before (falcon eyes from amazon with rgb options and 12w power).
This kind of lighting is very easy and flexible, most of the time I try to hold the light (of course u can fix it with a magic arm or smth like that) very close to the lens to have as little shadow behind the model as possible, aka paparazzi light. On the other hand u can just drop it on the floor or other surface and play with angles to the model to create big shadows to the side and behind her as u can see in the video :)
When I travel I usually have 2-3 portable lights with me to be able to place them in different places on location, to create nice atmosphere (hotel rooms, airbnbs etc). U can use it perfectly outside after sunset too.
You can also be creative and just put half of your hand in front of the light or just turn it more towards camera or sideways/downwards etc.. to create different kind of shadows in the picture and to have a less even light on the model.
