Mk.
I used a simple 3 light setup with Laura on this set, 160cm Okta with 1200D Aputure from the front sideways, and 2 Nova 300 Aputure Panels with Softboxes as strip lights from the back.
All lights were equipped with grids, so I keep the spill of light to minimal and no light goes to the black curtains behind the model. The acrylic plates I use on the floor are 1,5m x 2m, so its only 3m away from the curtains we use as black background. Normally you can increase black contrast later in post...
17 mins of Laura posing :)
got some unpublished photos of this tights set for you!

Here is a bts for the photos I uploaded recently. Very simple but effective 1 light setup, here I used an old fresnel 2kw tungsten light (warm color temperature). I used to do a lot of shoots with those kind of lights 2019-2021, till the LED lights from aputure got better and I had at least 600watt led :)
Those old 2kw Fresnels are nice to use if u want very crisp hard light, which also can be focused properly. Very good to use if you want to cut off light with flags/vflats or whatever, al...
Only natural light from the window :)

Still using just a reflector, as it was rather early in the day and the walls of the house also reflecting light back on the model here :)

I dont know how I got there, probably by accident, but I tried out one of my new 2025 presets in capture one on some of already finished retouched photos, which are jpeg. The direction was kinda nice, but it was not perfect. So I changed some things and now I have a bunch of presets extra for JPEGS.
And now, one week later I went through almost all my photo archives and tried those presets on my old and not so old photos and maybe you ...
Hey friends!
Here are the Capture One presets I have been using the last couple of month after coming from my winter vacation. As usual I was trying stuff out, turning colors left and right and kinda found some nice (for my taste) colors that I now wanna see everywhere on my photos :D
Some bts of one of the looks we did last summer. I am gonna upload one look per clip as usual, although I dont have that much clip material for every outfit, so maybe some gonna be mixed together to keep it more interesting for the post :)
Outdoor shoots are often more challenging, cause you cant go simply with available light and have same results through different times of the day because light is changing, sun is harsh from above, you have some great hours for sun and some annoyin...
Last summer we did a shoot outdoor in South France. Not usual or favorite setup with all that harsh sunlight during the day :D with not that many possibilities to hide from it. Client wanted sunny and bright colors and vibe. BTS Videos coming next :)

In this set photo you can see that I have 2 mainlights prepared for the shoot, a big softbox and a fresnel hard light. In the video I posted yesterday you can see how I first used a softbox light and then switched to fresnel.
Often when I know upfront that I wanna change light and we have enough lights available I would use the time while model is changing outfits or is getting makeup and hair fixed, to prepare different light solutions, so I can save time later :)
gonna write explanation for the lighting in another post :)

Tara was my first model to shoot in the new Gaia studio, shortly after or before its opening.
I only had 1 light with me in the studio and was looking for different options of lighting different areas in the studio. A very simple and effective way to have soft overall light is to bounce it from big white surfaces, in this case the ceiling. As you can see my aputure light (I think it was 600D) was directed up towards the ceiling and in front of model.
Gonna post the final sets of the advent calender campaign with purple colors tomorrow :) Then we are done with this project.
Another clip of the last setup, just a bit more of Clems posing :)

For this set we moved the reflective wall to the right side and used 2 lights to light into it to create different reflections, 1 with fresnel mount and 1 with simple reflector with barndoors.
Main light on the model is 1200D with big softbox and grid to keep the light away from the background.
In this clip we used the diy mirror foil wall which we set closed to the background to create more intense light reflections on it. Model was hit by a hard light with fresnel modifier with barndoors and we cut off the light to create a shadow line on the floor and also to keep the front light away from the background.
With this set we could let model pose not only in front of the main light but also let her go back closer to the background to create a different look with her being hit by t...
