BTS photos Maison Close shoot

A few weeks ago I had a commercial shoot for french lingerie brand Maison Close (you can see me edit those photos in the screen recording uploaded earlier). I didnt have any concrete preferences from the client, so the set/lighting and mood of the shoot were mine to plan and prepare. I decided to work with black glossy surface for the floor and ordered some acrylic glass plates for model to pose on.
For the overall mood I wanted to have a calm and elegant atmosphare, monochrome set, no colors and also use shadows to create contrast and mood.

When I approach a shoot like that with more than 1-2 lighting ideas I prepare all the lights (if possible) at the same time and place them on the right spots and then I can simply turn on/off the lights I need for the setting.

We had to shoot about 15 looks and I wanted to have some variety with lighting and set props.

I had 2 main lights (one at a time) - 1200D with a big softbox and one with a big fresnel lens from right side of the set. I used black board to cut off the light so it doesnt spill on the background and only concentrate on the model.

For the background I used 4 lights - 2x 600x with normal reflector and barn doorns and 2x Nova 300c panels with barndoors. I mostly used the 600x to put wide spots of light on the background (both simultaneosly and also just one of those to get only one sided light on the bg.) and Nova panels to assist for overall brightness and light gradient because of softer light source.

For countoring light I used a 600D with fresnel lens to point it on the models back from left back corner of the cyclorama.

I added one more 600x with a small fresnel from the left front side to have the possibilty to put a light spot on the clothes if needed.

For a few outfits I also used 8 Astera Titan tubes with 5500K white light.
