I think most ironic and befitting of all is that Avallac'h harbouring feelings for Ciri would provide something he has desperately sought for centuries - understanding of Lara Dorren's thought processes - and finally, also, closure. As to Ciri: there are almost none who could understand the loneliness she experiences not only due to her past and significance, but also due to her powers. Crevan is one of the very few who, imo, has the capacity to understand and being forced to empathise would help both characters to grow.
