A Big Post Castlevania Update

So the video is out and well, it's had quite the reception so far...

It's currently far and away my most successful video and the fact that it's bearing down on 100k views in less than a week is frankly mind-blowing. To put that into context - it took my Prince of Persia video 97 days and Jade Empire almost 200!

Numbers like this are genuinely not like anything I ever thought I'd ever see so I just wanted to share them with you guys as this may well never happen again haha! I suppose I've got to allow myself a modicum of humble bragging every now and then right?

Well, I'm going to do a stream on YouTube tomorrow to say hello in person and go through a few big updates to the channel. Seeing as you're all my favourite people in the world I thought I'd share it here first!

The Next Retrospective

So the next video is a little project I've dreamt of doing since I first started uploading videos to YouTube - A Panzer Dragoon Retrospective. 

I'm sure many people won't have heard of it but the series is an extremely strange mixture of rail shooter and RPG - all wrapped up in a Dune style high fantasy setting and all taking place on the fated Sega Saturn. It's essentially going to be not just the story of this crazy franchise but also document the downfall of Sega as a hardware developer.

The series is fairly short so I shouldn't imagine it will take me that long to get it out to you - I'm hoping for either the last week of December or the first week of January.

A Return to Twitch

So I've decided in order to break up those big waits for videos I'm going to return to streaming and play through some games that might no otherwise be covered on the channel. It's going to be every Monday night and I'll probably call it BOOMTOWN MONDAYS (funny reference eh?)

Hopefully this shouldn't get in the way of any fresh videos and will just be a fun little way to all hang outside of the comment section!

Uploading the Videos as Podcasts

I've had a few people request the videos in audio only form so I think I'm going to look into getting them uploaded as podcasts on Spotify.

It's something I'm not all that familiar with so will probably take me a few days to get sorted. Obviously I'll need to get new graphics to go alongside it and record some introductory sequences so they actually work in this format - but it's something that surely makes sense considering the style?

Hopefully I'll be able to gauge some interest from the stream tomorrow (and next Monday) and see if this is something people actually want!

So yeah - some big things happening and some big things on the horizon. I'm really excited to get to work on this next project and actually spend some time talking games and hanging out with people in the streams!
