Update: Touhou 8 Madness and Next Animated Project

I had just made a announcement over at the YouTube community tab, and I wanted to take some time to update my Patrons and my free members.

The next video will be the next scene of Touhou 8 Madness. I know it's been months now since the release of the Touhou 8 Madness video on YouTube for the 20th Anniversary of IN, but it wasn't over yet for sure. Touhou 8 Madness was intended to be finished for the 20th Anniversary, but I have changed my process in a little as a year that now I realized that the full length video is not going to be done any time soon. That is why a schedule has been put in place, one scene every month. No matter what I'm working on, at the beginning of every month, I will work on the next scene for Touhou 8 Madness. At least for the foreseeable future. You never know what will happen to change this schedule, but I'm very certain that some scenes will require a specific schedule made just for it. Particularly fight scene. Yes, there's going to be fight scenes, but you'll have to wait to see how those come out. For now, the next scene is just another talking heads video so it should be here either by the end of this week or the beginning of the next.

My next announcement. The short teaser has been released on YouTube. It took me longer than expected because I wanted to upload it after all the excitement of having two videos in the same week. Just throw it randomly, surprise a few people, and move on. But, my goodness, that video is doing well. I already explained everything in the community tab, but to think that a 30 second clip can actually get people excited. The real thing is going to be crazy for sure. But The video is finally uploaded, finishing this small project that has lasted me for half-a-year. But I'm not ready to proceed to the next stage, which is the longer teaser trailer, which I am still waiting till I reach that $3000 goal on Ko-fi. But that doesn't mean I'm going to relax just yet. While I wait, I'm going to continue practicing my art and further my skills. But I would also like to start a new animation project. Something a bit longer than 30 seconds, but this time not worry about getting "the right look". Just do something for fun. And that is why I decided on my next animation project: an adaption of the beginning of chapter 34 of Wild and Horned Hermit. I haven't mentioned this before but I am actually currently reading WaHH, or at least when I'm rendering the AI voices. When I'm recording the lines for the characters, I have to either use TTS or record my voice to have it converted to another voice. For some of these voices, it takes a while for the voices to render. It's during these times that I just pull up WaHH and start reading it. That's how I'm managing to get through it.

And during one of these waiting periods, I was on chapter 34. I was just expecting another chapter like before, but this one was different, at least in the beginning. It had this very surreal feel I can't properly explain. I've read the previous chapters and though they were pretty good, but the way this chapter started, my imagination sparked. Though perhaps it's just me. If you read that chapter, you probably would not see it as atmospheric as I did. But this portion of the chapter was so vivid in my mind that I thought it would be cool if it was animated in color using the same tone that the beginning page uses. Though I'll doubt I'll get exactly as it is in the manga, still worth taking a shot. We're experimenting after all.

Right now I'm just settling back into the art style I've been working on since it's been a while since I last practiced it. Eventually, I'll start the plans for this little project. For those in the Final and Extra Stage Boss tiers, you will get early access to the WIPs and the completed video at the end, and Extra Stage Bosses will get the making of the video as I showcase production notes, concept art, and other bits of the production process.

I know the Patreon page has been lacking in activity, but now that all my previous tasks have been fulfilled, that should start change. So thank you once again for all your support. It means so much to mean that you guys believe in the projects. We'll make something amazing for sure.
