I've been working on a lot of BIG PROJECT STUFF, which is also private, so unfortunately I won't actually have a lot to post this end of the month :/
(Oh wow, new Patreon posting interface, how's this work now?)

It's been a while since doing an end of the month post, but that's honestly only because I felt like I had nothing to really say that would have been different from the last one. I've been fiddling with brushes in Krita and doing sketches, commission and comic work, but other than that nothing really profound or noteworthy, until this month that is.
I've mentioned in an earlier Patreon post that I'm putting the Eyes on the Prize comic on hold again, because I'm having a hard time doing ...

Since restarting work on the Eyes on the Prize comic, I've been having a lot of troubles with art in general, and I reasoned that I'm juggling too many project ideas that are far too different from each other to get into a proper "flow" with them. Commissions haven't been that easy to work with, comic pages have a ton of fiddly bits that I'm simply not used to working with, etc.
So, I'm going to once again put the comic on hold. However, I'm am going to close commissions and work on the...

Small quick update for this month:
I will not be able to get the next page on Eyes on the Prize done this month, but I do promise to complete the commissions I have left instead.
THEN I will work on the next page!

I'm sure you've noticed, but I had no PSDs to post. I spent most of my time working on the EotP page (and being fatigued), and, I've also been using Krita, which uses their own file format.
Krita uses .kra files, naturally. This is something that's actually been spreading to other drawing programs, which is making me question the PSD format lately.
Clipstudio uses .clip files.
Art Studio Pro on the iPad - artstudio files
Procreate - proc files
Krita - kra files

I didn't have much to say for the past few months as I've honestly mostly been struggling with certain things in art that I felt like were not actually all that note-while to mention, so I didn't write anything at all. But, now I feel like I do!
I'm going to put efforts into doing comic work. I've wanted to do comics for a while, but never felt like I have to appropriate skills for them. Lately that feeling has changed, and I feel like the time is write to actually put more efforts into...

The start of the month was pretty good. I tried out my new stream/drawing schedule, but after only 2 days I dropped it, and now aim for much more relaxed times. September has been the month of “I’m tired.” and while I did get an ‘adequate’ amount of work done, it could have been more. I had a lot of days where I struggled to even focus on anything, with my head in a sort of warm foggy daze. Odd to explain, but there it is.
Of the work completed this month, I’ve changed a few...

I JUST REALIZED I DIDN'T REPOST TO HERE. DAMN IT.
I think I took on too many commissions, heh. That said, it wasn’t unexpected. I took on a lot of commissions to sort of stress-test workload. I think overall I handled it pretty well. I’m decently happy with the outcome of each commission and, I can only assume, the commissioners were too. However, I still have an issue with speed. I had many days where I simply didn’t work on anything at all. I had many days where I felt extremely...

HEY, I’m keeping it super short this time.
I’m back to doing art, yay!
I’m doing a lot more sketch work, rather than line-art. I don’t actually like doing line-art pieces all that much, and I feel like I have more freedom with sketches. I’m super happy with the outcome of the last batch of ‘sketches’ I’ve done, but some of them make me question if it was still a ‘sketch’ in the end. A forever ongoing question for me I guess: “What’s a sketch?”
I’v...

Although it was the end of the year, I didn't have anything to say that I could say with any sort of resolve, so here's some things now.
Although art commissions were going well, I once again, neglected personal projects. Since the start of January, I've come up with a new system to try out for overall general content, since I can't trust myself to do it in any sort of reasonably free-willed way. The system is simply doing and completing one Personal Project, then two commissions. 1-2-1...

Earlier this month I have finally completed Silk and Dagger, an 8 page comic! It’s a frame-by-frame comic featuring one (technically two) of my characters, Nasuka and “Boy”. There’s not much to say about it, but I’m very happy to have completed it. I learned a lot while doing it, and experimented with small things such as line-art thickness. Basically, when an “object” is “closer to the camera” then I make the line-art thicker, or something is further away, then I’ll make ...

I have a good feeling I'll be finishing up SaD in the middle of October, this month.
I'm honestly not sure how I want go about posting it, but what is most likely to happen is that Patreon posts will get the "early posting" treatment. I'll probably go with a weekly posting schedule, but after that I don't know.
Do I go with posting the whole thing on Patreon first and *then* publicly post, or do I post 1 'early page', then post 1 'public' page the week after for corresponding page...

I didn’t do a post for July because I had basically nothing to say that I felt warranted time to even say it. I officially started work on Silk and Dagger, an 8(9) page comic. Currently all of the sketches for each page are done and now I just have to go through and line and color it all. Honestly it shouldn’t take very long from now until it’s completion! Speaking of sketching/sketches, I’m still pretty damn happy with what I consider a ‘sketch’ currently. It’s very easy for me...

In usual end of the month post-fashion, I will continue in random disjointed-not connected point to point journaling, without looking at a previous post to see if I've already said something.
It's hot, and I don't like it. That is all.
In the middle of May, I accepted way too many commissions, again, and figured it would take at least 1-3 months to get it all done. Well, I got it all done by the end of this month! I'm going to be taking a break from commissions a bit to re-evaluat...

Honestly I don’t have a lot to say this month.
I’m adjusting some commission prices again. I’ve updated the “Additional Notes” card, you can see it on the commissions info page: Commissions Info! – The Art of Blokfort
All time-lapses for Patreon will now be 2 minutes, since that’s a pretty good length of time. It’s not too long, and it’s not too short, and it fits within Patreon’s fi...

I’m having to look through what art I even did this month to remind myself what even got finished, because I honestly can’t really remember. This will be a bit of a short update, with more disjointed and random thoughts strung together. Enjoy?
I did a lot of concept and experimental work, like pixel art and .gif making.
I ran into more issues with ASP’s memory limits with the iPad, but I think I now know what those limits are, and can more easily avoid them in the future. I...

End of Month Post - March 2021 - The Art of Blokfort
I accepted commissions at the start of March, Started using ASP (Art Studio Pro on the iPad) in earnest. Every commission done was done in ASP. I can now safely say that even though there are still some issues that come up in ASP, I very much prefer it over Pro (Procreate on the iPad).
With some of the “sma...

I got a lot of work done, but unfortunately I don’t have a lot to show for it. Mostly the highlights of this month are a couple of big projects, daily drawings, and a lot of time dedicated to learning and re-learning certain aspects of the art programs that I now I’m currently use. It makes me feel a little bad, because I feel like I need to consistently show and provide the work that people are supporting me for. I only managed to finish page 7 of Eyes on the Prize, and a few other commi...

End of Month posts will now be on Patreon too, for public reading!
I didn’t do a post for December 2020 because I felt like nothing notable really happened, and that I somehow also needed to summarize the year of 2020 for myself. I didn’t want to do that. So moving on, onto rambling! New year, new goals.
I’ve mentioned in a twitter post before; Juggling both commission work and comic work is really tricky for me. I’m still working through how I want a comic to look like a...

I feel pretty lame for yet another one of "these types of months," but I honestly won't have very much to offer again. I'm really sorry about that.
The main reason for the absence of content is because of my right wrist/hand, aka my drawing hand. I was simply unable to use it for about 3 weeks, as moving it, let alone trying to use it, let to a very annoying amount of pain and ache. It has mostly recovered by now, with 1 angle and pressure still being uncomfortable, but I am at least ba...

I'm afraid I'm going to have to say that I simply do not have enough content to warrant any of the tiers a post for June. I took on too many character reference commissions, and I cannot in good faith post that content.
Sorry! For the few thing I have done this month, I'll post for July instead. I can however, post the time-lapses for the character sheets.

As the title states, I'm changing some of the tiers names around, and adding in a new thing for time-lapses. I'm not sure what the limit with file management is with Patreon, nor if I'll be doing everything from here on out, if that makes sense.
There are certain bits of content I feel like I cannot, within good faith, share with the rest of the world, such as hard details on Character Sheets or some comics. Maybe. Hard to say for now, as I don't actually have ...

It's not all that important, but I'm thinking I might do an "end of month post" for things like sketches and put them in a batch. As it is, the art I do is a bit random and sometimes I feel like the content doesn't really call for a post on it's own. So, I'll gather up all the bits, Full-Resolution pics, Posting-Resolution pics, and their respective PSDs For simpler viewing / downloading here.
Since I mainly use Procreate, I was thinking about what I might do with timelapses as well, bu...

So I'm finally going to use Patreon again. Granted, I still don't have a lot to offer, but it's better than letting it sit here.
I'll be reposting any and all full resolution pictures under 1$ subs, as is typically needed for Patreon anyway.
I think later down the line when I get more comics and such done I'll throw up a $2-$5 sub for full resolution comics.
Obviously regular resolutions will be readily available everywhere else, that will not change.
