Hello! I think photobashing is fine, although I think it can be a bit iffy to use it too much. Photos tend to have a very different level of detail from painting, which can get jarring if not handled correctly. There are really good artists that manage them very well in large quantities though, so my opinion really doesn't matter too much! I use photo textures occasionally, mostly as a placeholder/guide until I can paint the area manually, or to just add a bit of noise to something like a dirty wall or floor off to the side. I try not to have that photo/painting discrepancy near important parts of the picture.

Sure, I think a multi-part real time tutorial covering a full process is a good idea.

It's a bit simpler than you would expect - Using transform > distort in photoshop can help put all kinds of patterns and texture on various surfaces in perspective quite easily.

there is so much incredible detail in your work without it being overwhelming to the main idea. It's beautiful. How do you handle things like the repetition of tiles like on the walls and floors, or even something like the holes in the bench for your subway peice?
