Bridge (2021//2019)

Just couldn't get it to feel or look what I wanted back then but I decided to give it a quick go recently. I think the composition feels a little outdated compared to more recent works, but it was a fun time anyway!

2021-07-04 11:38:39 +0000 UTCi think the new one certainly shows more skill in many areas, but i think they are two different paintings with different styles and also different moods. the new one is more refined but the old one also has a beauty in how it achieved the impression it makes with more large shapes that have a more simple texture to them. i feel the more fine detail is added to a picture, the more it draws away from the simple shapes and composition. i could say more or less the same about the other remakes as well. so i wouldnt cast the old one away and say theres a new one now thats ultimately better. i also find it very interesting to see two different takes of a scene with slightly different styles. it allows the aspiring illustrator to pick and choose wich element from wich style they like the most and try out new combinations.
