Alley (Full-res + Process Steps)
Added 2021-04-20 06:10:17 +0000 UTCIt's been quite a while since I had to draw a proper full-scene that's generally well lit; it is actually surprisingly tough when a lot of the scene is in view and in focus. (and doesn't have the benefit of hiding in shadows) Perhaps it's just part and parcel of drawing such types of scenes, or maybe there is a better composition I could have found. I think these kind of questions make it really fun and exciting for me to continuously explore and drawing.

2021-04-21 04:32:54 +0000 UTCThank you! I don't often use other artists' paintings directly as reference, but I think the kind of backgrounds I draw recently are definitely inspired by Mamoru Oshii's original Ghost in the Shell movie (which is in turn based a lot on Hong Kong city)

On the 5% dissatisfaction, I would say that the only thing where you are a little shy is on the cigarette smoke - yet you manage the smoke on the right of the illustration very well. But otherwise, it's absolutely perfect!
