Thank you so much for sharing! Just want to say that these videos and everything you've been sharing is super helpful and interesting - glad you decided to start making them for your patreon!

Thank you for the question! I do talk abit about creating the depth in the sketch stage in this month's video (coming tomorrow :))

Actually I think NS was a very good thing for me overall with regards to art (surprisingly), especially the gaps just before and after NS. During the 2 years itself even though I'm was in a stay in combat unit, being free from school also gave me a lot of energy to draw on weekends. Good luck!

not really a FAQ, but I’d genuinely like to ask how going through National service impacted your art progress. As a fellow singaporean I find the amount of free time I have to be very limited with projects and whatnot, with NS coming soon I’m wondering how I’m going to fit art into all this.

Thank you, I will add the question to the list! As to english, I grew up speaking it so I'm somewhat of a native speaker :)

Enjoyed the video and it really helped clear up my doubts about my own layer use, one thing I’ve always wished there were more of was videos of how you went about adding rain or snow and making it interact with the character. I’ve watched that old Greyhound video on YouTube thousands of times at this point and it’s still amazing to see how well the rain began to affect the character as you approached completion. One other thing I’d love to hear about is how you go using the grids to make sure your work has depth. I think I’ve been trapped trying to break out of flat drawings by using more dynamic poses but I still think it’s something else I’m missing so I’d love more on that!

really liked the vedio, i wanted to ask a sort of intermediate question, i like your brush work and few other artists how to practice that so that my shapes blend nicely seems like my question has answer itself but still would love any advice on that, this was the main reason i was asking for old pieces of yours with organic bg to study the brush work and shapes on things like heavy clothing and rocks. and a really off topic question pls forgib me XD how did u practice speaking english so well i come with a no native background and can understand everything but speach is just feel like a heavy thing to practice except for already painting all day

Thank you, that is a good topic to touch on as well!

GUWEIZ

Hey Guweiz, I really liked this video a lot! It was very clear and I especially found the reference use part to be very useful! I would love to hear you talk about some tips for "Self-learning" someday! For example did you put a X amount of time a week into figure drawing, photo studies etc... Or was there not really a schedule? Anyways, thank you so much! I really enjoy those videos and your book is absolutely the most important item in my bookshelf! Cheers!
