Video time around 5:30 What is the effect of white or black coloring on tone curve layers? I would be very happy if you could explain.

Thank you! I've learned much from this one video alone and intend to learn more to improve my own non-existent digital painting skills!

Sorry! The text has some weird formatting bugs at times, it should be fixed now.

Hello! Apologies for adding to the several requests, but if possible I would love to be able to download these three videos as well please!

If it's a difficult angle, I just sketch the full arm (including hidden areas) and then erase the parts not needed :)

GUWEIZ

What knowledge do you need to accurately imagine and draw the right arm hidden behind the body๏ผŒand how did you acquire the knowledge?

Sure, it took about 10-12 hours I think, in 2 or 3 sittings :)

GUWEIZ

can you say how long in realtime this took? its lovely to watch your process come to life.

Sent you a message :)

GUWEIZ

Hi is there a way that we can Download the Video?

Thank you!

GUWEIZ

I learnt so many things from one video. Love the way you keen and draw every details and try to bring out some kind of emotional feelings on to your art. Thank you for posting a video. Can't wait to watch next episode.

I'm so excited for the videos!!! Watching the process is super helpful!

Lindsey Harrington

Thank you! I will look into it.

GUWEIZ

Thanks Guweiz for being so awesome, is there actually any way for us to download your video tutorial please? I want to be able to study your images and videos offline if possible. Please let me know!! Thanks Charlie

Learned a lot just from watching it in the hands-on application. The book is an amazing read as well, learned a lot from it, but the video gave me a lot of insights. Thank you GUWEIZ <3 love your artwork super excited for whatโ€™s next!

The size is usually 4000x5000+ or 4000x8000+ As long as it is big enough for you to paint details comfortably, it is OK!

GUWEIZ

I don't understand English, please forgive me if there is an error in the text. I am studying every day so that I can draw pictures like you. I have a question, what is the size of the compass you are painting?

Thank you very much, I'm glad I'm able to bring some value to the table! Feng's Design Cinema is a really good resource especially for environment designers, but I found his instructional style the most memorable part for me! In that aspect I also try to be more organic in the voiceover, sharing key points when relevant so it's easier to listen to vs. the step by step style.

GUWEIZ

Hi Guweiz, huge fan from Malaysia, been following your work for years and you're one of my art heroes! I've learned so much just from watching your process! I can also see (and hear) Feng Zhu's influence on the style of your video! Thanks so much for the video and opening up your patreon again, hoping to see more of these contents!

I never imagined your english pronunciation to be so good! I've been wanting voiced tutorials from you for a long time. You really are a big inspiration to me:)

Santiago Venegas

Thank you, I'm glad you like the video! For the shop it is a mix of roughing everything out by eye, and then looking up smaller elements like hanging meat, steel lockers etc.

GUWEIZ

i honestly learned a lot watching your process it's really impressive to see you go from values to colors, which for me values are one of the most important aspect of painting. I wanted to ask you if you use references to draw the shop ? ^^ thank you so much for the video !

Akitsune.a

This is very satisfying! Thank you so much for this afforadable contents and sharing your amazing works!

Thank you! Personally I am very loose with layers; I create a new one if I want to add something new to try or just stamp visible and paint on 1 layer (which is the usual for me). Overall, don't worry about layer use, just use it to your own preference. Only thing to maybe avoid is getting too bogged down looking through too many layers.

GUWEIZ

Watching you work is really incredible, your understanding of color choice is insane. I'm still definitely a novice to digital art so I apologize if this is a basic question, but I was wondering if you could give some insight about how you make decisions about the way you utilize your layers? It looked like there were a lot here and I know artists use them all differently, but I'd love to try to apply the techniques you showed as effectively as possible with what I'm learning. Thank you so much for your time!

Hello, the brush I used has somewhat of a soft edge if you don't press down very hard, I mostly use it for making rough strokes. For softer edges (do you mean smooth areas with no visible brushstrokes?), I just use soft airbrush and lasso as well when I need to control the area. As long as you can get the desired effect you want, don't worry about the method, just use the one most intuitive to you!

GUWEIZ

Hullo Guweiz! Just want to say I'm a huge fan of yours and you inspired me to learn digital painting :D I also would like to ask, from the video it seems like you mainly use a hard square brush? To create the softer edges do you just use gradient transition with a hard brush? Cuz iirc your previous youtube videos mentioned using the airbrush combined with the lasso tool

Rekinfer

Thank you, are you watching it from this page while logged in? (I think there are some security features that prevent it from public access)

GUWEIZ

i love your artworks!! anyway, i cant play the video, its take down or something?

Thank you for the feedback, I will try to include a segment dedicated to BG/settings next month!

GUWEIZ

Thank you very much for this!! Next time can you show how you approach drawing background? (like finding references, colour choice, etc.) I always admire the composition and how realistic your BG look!

The work process is literally one of the best examples I've seen that applies all the fundamentals. Thank you for sharing them ^_^

Thanks for this! Is amazing! I really love your style and want to learn a lot of things from you so this will be very useful to understand more about your process :D Just out of curiosity how much time it took you this piece?
