Interesting how the series starts here, I watched the theatrical release and it starts off in a different point.

2025-04-09 13:46:38 +0000 UTCNot sure if ED knows, but GquuuuuX is part of an existing Gundam series, the "UC timeline" aka the main timeline starting with the original Gundam made back in 1979. Albeit the show follows an "alternate history" continuity from the existing timeline, which I won't go over since I think episode 2 will go over the start, the factions in this setting, and what's different overall from the original Gundam events. I will note some worldbuilding stuff that the show glossed over since most I think you were expected to know prior (aside from MAVs, which are new to this show). You can ignore that though if you wanna figure this out yourself of course. Sides = Space Colonies. Most of the Sides are designed to cylindrical and rotating like Side 6, the main setting of this series. New Types are a supernatural concept introduced in the latter half of the original Mobile Suit Gundam and developed further in later UC timeline shows. Without going into too much detail, some people that live in space for too long eventually develop psychic like powers; this includes something similar to a 6th sense (shown in this episode a couple of times), communicating with their minds, being overall better mobile suit pilots, and being able to use advance mobile suit technology such as Bits. Minovsky particles are a particles created as a byproduct of mobile suits and the space ships which causes radar systems to jam. Their existence is basically the reason why people in this universe fight using giant robots in close combat rather than the more logical thing of using space ships to fire at long range. Psycommu is a system placed onto certain specialized Mobile Suits designed for pilots that have New Type abilities making them unaffected by Minovsky particles, as well as use advanced experimental technology.
