Out of curiosity I looked up the waffle party, and ben stiller confirmed it's a sex ritual. Lumon is creating a corporate religion, and the innies are forbidden all forms of "fraternization", but as a reward for good performance can have ritualized sex that's framed as a reenactment of kier's life. Basically sex is only okay if it's framed as part of the company, and while not exactly satanic is definitely another twisted form of control
