Another month down with a heck of a lot of progress for the game! Got a good chunk of time working on a lot of the little things I've been needing to learn to play around with this game. First and foremost I finally got the Bod model to a point where it looks good enough for me to play around with as a first pass! In addition I put in some extra time working on some of the mechanics Bod will be using in the game. My current goal at the moment is to keep building on these basic systems so that I can try and have a very base level playable build for people to tinker around with by the end of the summer!
So with that, next months goals! First and foremost I'm planning on doing another pass on the Bod model to clean it up a bit. Working on giving Bod actually toes instead of a blob on the foot. In addition I'd like to clean up the hands, forearm, and head a bit so that the basic rigging I need for the game is where I want it to be. Planning on also getting some texture programs so that I can finally start adding in details to Bod design!
Bod Model: So first and foremost, tail :D!! I finally got the tail added in and rigged for Bod! In addition to that I've been starting to model a bunch of the waist cloth for Bod while also playing around with shape keys to show changes to Bod's hips that come about in the game. In addition I may have gotten some jiggle physics working on said hips >.> .As mentioned above, the next goal is going to be really doing another polish pass on the model so that I can get it to a state where I'm ready to play around with more in depth weight painting and texture work!
Game System: So in terms of the game systems, the main thing I got working this month was the start of an inventory system! At the moment it's still pretty barebones and doesn't do much, but I can at least get things into it! Hoping to build upon it a bit this next month so that it can actually start effecting some of the mechanics I'm looking to do. Speaking of which, an item select/equipment select UI has also been implemented so far! Both of these features have been added below in the vids for the update :3!
Mechanics: Mechanics wise, the 2 major things I got done this month was fix my standing/crouching/prone system for the game! Still has some bugs that need to get ironed out, but it's working as intended for now! Likewise I got the start of a block pushing mechanic into the game! Was really happy how both of these came out and plan on fine tuning them to add a bit more functionality in the future! But for now I'm going to be swiveling to some of the other mechanics in the game such and ledge hanging and general traversal this month! As a final side note, I did get some doors working also X3!! I've added a few of my mechanics notes below! Hoping to keep working on getting these guys added :3!
