Dev Update #3 - D.I.E.T. - 0.32.0

Hey everyone - quick progress update:

Story Status (by polarisdreamer) - 100% Complete

Coding - 100% Complete

Character Appearances - 100% Complete

Background Images - 100% Complete

Still Renders - 100% Complete

Character Sprite Renders - 10% Complete

File Compression - 0% Complete

So I've realized that I'm certainly going to need to upgrade my laptop in a few months while I've been working on this update... My VaM folder is over 1.3 TB large. I've been working off of an external hard drive for a few months now and it's excruciatingly slow compared to when I was working directly from my laptop (internal SSD is only 1 TB large). I plan in a few months to upgrade to a Razer 16 once it releases & try to expand the internal SSD as well. Not really an Dev Update on D.I.E.T., but wanted to share anyways since I'm about to pull my hair out as I wait for assets to load ha.

So in regards to D.I.E.T., got all my still renders done this weekend. There's quite a few more in this update than there has been in previous updates. Character sprites are a bit simpler to do for me (I've got a template scene for taking transparent photos), but there are usually hundreds of sprites in one update. I'll be working on this every night this week as per usual.

I plan to release one more Dev Update before release (barring any catastrophic issues). Thanks again for everyone's support and patience.

Respectfully,

for your technical situation, most laptops let you at least upgrade the storage. you can get a 4tb ssd m.2 for about $200, though of course you would need to verify the model of the drive will fit your device. that said, if you already have external storage -- most video editors run into similar problems, and to solve it what they do is put their current working directory on their main internal drive, and use the external drive for older files / files that don't need to be read/write fast. so you may get some more mileage with your current setup if you just spend a moment to move some things around
