Dev Update #1 - D.I.E.T. - 0.31.0

Hey everyone - quick progress update:

Story Status (by me) - 100% Complete

Coding - 100% Complete

Character Appearances - 100% Complete

Background Images/Still Renders - 50% Complete

Character Sprite Renders - 0% Complete

File Compression - 0% Complete (Starts after all steps above are complete)

So I've been a bit quiet lately. I apologize for the delays. I'll try to be as transparent as possible about everything (nothing bad), just explaining what I've been up to.

Firstly, when I first did the script, I realized it was only about 8,000 words. Far too short for a full story in my opinion. I was trying to go back and just add in dialog, but it felt... like trash. I'm not a top tier writer in any sense. I ended up going back and rewriting a lot of the script, and then adding in components of the original script to fully "flesh" it out. I'll always be my own worst critic, but it's at a place where I'm happy with it. It's now a bit more than 16,000 words.

Additionally, the months of November/December/January are my busiest months of the year for my full time job. I won't get into directly what industry I'm in, but it's a lot of 8am to 8pm days 6 days a week since this is where a good 70% of my actual income comes from in these few months.

It's been a blessing to be able to transition from "once a month" updates into a more balanced approach, and I appreciate everyone who has been willing to support me throughout this.

With that said, I do have some required time off from work coming up this week due to the holidays (part of working for a giant organization is that they abide by the holidays relatively strictly), so I do expect to have this done and out by at the latest Saturday (and quite potentially sooner).

Sorry for the lack of communication on things. Some good news though - polarisdreamer has agreed to help me on the next update :) Looking forward to seeing the prodigal son return!
