I think we’re back…

I’ve spent the last two days diligently poking at settings on a heavy duty cache system for the site. I think it works. I’ve tested and re-tested. That being said, there will be issues (no maybe about it), so if any of you do find anything, let me know… do not suffer quietly in this case. Better to know things. Fingers crossed this now stabilizes the site a lot more.

Site Update (part two)

A quick little update. As you can see, I’m making some progress (we’re not just getting the generic blank error page). The problem was threefold -

1.) We had an unexpected surge of traffic hammering our database (still investigating this)

2.) The new queries I built for all of the tasks were marginally more resource intensive

3.) Our server realizing we were overutilizing the CPU throttled the site. This aggravated the other two issues.

We are vastly over-running our CPU capacity. I am not yet certain if it is something that I have done with the recent site changes and module upgrades, or if we are being hammered with a DDOS or some type. Perhaps they think I’m that other Daniels in the news who is having similar online attacks. *eye roll*
