A lot of the first episode is taken from the OG Blade Runner, from shot of the opening title, to Naomi eating ramen, to the rain falling on Viola at the end. I would assume that this is because the plot is also taken from Blade Runner in that Rouge and Naomi hunt down rogue androids.

2024-01-13 13:28:00 +0000 UTCI'm guessing the Nectar stuff is supposed to be like fuel for the Neans (aka the androids), but humans can use it as a drug to get high. Kinda like how we use gasoline to make cars go, but I've heard stories of some people huffing up gasoline. Also sorry to be that guy, but I think ED was mixing up android with cyborg lol. Androids = humanoid robots (like Vivy), Cyborgs = humans that have robot parts (like Cyberpunk).

2024-01-10 20:43:46 +0000 UTCI think I might have watched too many real robot anime like Gundam where they throw like 20 new worldbuilding concepts in an episode and was still able to follow it fairly well unlike chat lol. I think this is the anime doing an "in medias res" kind of beginning just to get to some action, and we'll get to some back-story on what the mission for the main characters are in the next couple of episodes. I do agree though that the pacing is a bit fast. Hoping this maybe is like Vivy in that all I really need is some really cool fight scenes with a decent story to connect the fights together. Feels like an homage to those live-action tokusatsu series like Ultraman or Kamen Rider in the robot designs.
