Jet actually had more in common with aang than zuko which is why katara had a crush on him until he was shown taking things too far lmao. she had a crush on jet bc of his charisma and charm ( like aang) , not because he was a cringe "bad boy" or whatever even though zuko wasnt even that either zuko was just awkward.

2023-08-06 12:42:17 +0000 UTC1. is it realistic: yes, just because you dont like these type of tropes dont mean we have to hate them with u cuz people like this are real. we all know people like them and if u say u don't u either capping or u don't have friends and family around. 2. annoying: only for yall that dont like it. i like it 3. purpose: to show character dynamics/interactions. 4.ATLA romance: yall seem forget we only got bits and pieces of it in the first 2 books and in book 3 we only get like 3 kataang moments like they ant progress nun in that relationship till the last episode of book 3. katara had more in common with jet and zuko that they should have went that route. if you think watching aang being a shy boy about his feelings is more enjoyable then it's cool i dont have to like it. 3. stop using the word "objectively" wrong in this context my guy. its not objectively wrong when you don't like something. stuff u like i don't like its called subjectivity. the story is following its plot points and threads to well for u to say that. i get it if u wont to call mako a bitch im cool with that. ATLA is how I wished my adolescent love life went, LoK is how it actually went/was observed; drama on drama and teens being emotionally incompetent

All of a sudden, you're thrust into real life and required to make a bunch hard decisions with parties that offer unfamiliar resistance. Korra feeling like the world is against her because people are challenging her perspective makes perfect sense. Mind you, it's only been 6 months since the end of Book 1, in-universe. She's also trying to simultaneously reconcile with outcome of these decisions not going her way. It's a very real situation. Mako is also her first boyfriend and a prettyboi at that. Mako's just doing what a lot of remotely attractive dudes did in their late teens, and that's try to get as much coochie as possible. I've literally been in friend groups were the integrity of the group was compromised because one of the male members was trying to smash at least 2 of the girls. The writing of their interactions feels authentic to me, unlike ATLA which felt ideal.
