Added 2025-03-06 20:00:14 +0000 UTCAs a young pup collecting comic books, the cover art for Deathblow #9 on Image Comics really stood out to me. It looked so bad ass with Deathblow, a former Navy SEAL, looking huge standing there with his bandana strings flying around in that Jim Lee style, behind a nun wielding a sword in an eye catching contrast to the huge gun Deathblow's holding. There's only 2 colors, black and green in a gritty Sin City style, which gave me the impression of a dense jungle.
tl;dr these jungle soldier images were inspired by the cover art of Deathblow #9 and the OG Predator movie.
