We had to upgrade to Patreon API v2 in order to query gift status, but this caused existing systems to malfunction (since the API works differently from v1). Everything should work fine now though!

It's a Patreon thing! In late November 2024, Patreon implemented a system allowing their users to gift subscriptions to others. We used to check patron eligibility by checking patronage, but when we query Patreon API, a gifted user will show up as having 0 pledge. That's why we had to upgrade to Patreon API v2, where we are able to check tier status rather than pledge.
