so i passed out last night almost as soon as i got the chapter out. i'm sorry it came out a bit short, but it went through several rewrites and while what i finally shoved out the door was a bit shorter than the original, i feel like it was the appropriate place to cut the chapter. we'll open the next one with morgan learning the minimum basics of flight because her life depends on it, and then we're off to the races! will she catch up with dana and friends before disaster catches up with them? who knows!
now, the shameless plug!
A lot of you guys know about The Deathworlders. Well, some of you, i think. at least one, i'm sure. The Deathworlders is one of the most well known stories to come from reddit's HFY community . It's written by two guys i deeply respect, and both of whom are partially if not directly responsible for my own courage to share my writing. one's a grumpy bear and high mage of network technologies, and the other is an angry welshman who i still consider a friend even though he puts milk in his tea and calls biscuits scones. Deathworlders is a wildly popular sci-fi space opera and epic web serial. But that's not the point. The point is, they wrote a book!
It's also sci-fi, about a "generational ship" that sets out from earth and spends hundreds of years crossing the deep black to get to its destination. Shenanigans ensue when they end up off course and have to adjust the colony mission right as they're nearing their destination. The book is already published and available for purchase, but Hambone and Ctwelve have decided to post it on Royal Road and on Reddit. I linked the Royal Road page in this post title, but you can also find it on Amazon if you are interested in the ebook and don't want to wait for the weekly posts they have planned.
I hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving! I'm planning on eating way too much and then sleeping for two days!
