In the the alternate universe, AniMECH Technologies with their AnthroCars have basically taken over the market, the success of the transforming sentient vehicles was such a success that eventually they were the only kind of cars people wanted anymore, they essentially became the 'it' thing to have. Mirroring how Tesla is in this universe. Unable to recreate the man-made sentient programming of the AnthroCars, thus making competing products impossible.. the traditional car brands began to control of the market to AniMECH, and one by one AniMECH would merge with these companies.. the Asian brands first, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi. With every company absorbed, their domination of the automotive industry grew. AniMECH's influence moved slowly east and west.
Presently all the traditional car brands currently exist in name only, having long been merged with and all managerial control, all current car models, and any future to come are controlled by AniMECH.
Elon Musk's, Tesla, is the only independent car maker left if barely. Despite Musk's staunch opposition towards self-aware AI, he was left with no choice but to create his own anthro-Teslas in order to have any chance of competing with AniMECH, dubbed 'MorphX' cars. The cruel irony is that in order to compete with AniMECH, Musk was forced to license out AniMECH's sentient computer technology at a near prohibitively expensive price and sign a closets worth of legal agreements against any reverse engineering or any other such activities.
While Elon now had access to the technology that allows for vehicle self-awareness, Tesla was forced to design the transforming anthropomorphic mechanical bodies of their cars themselves, and while being made to emulate the look of AniMECH's cars on the outside, a key difference is that Tesla MorphX cars aren't infested with the microscopic colonies of nanites which allow for the mechano-biological behavior the Anthro-cars have such as growing and developing from small babies to full-sized cars, and self repair-healing. This means that there are no 'baby' Teslas. All Tesla MorphX vehicles are born adult in size and instead mature from childhood mentally. Reproduction is completely different as well, because of the fixed body size, Teslas lay 'eggs' of sorts, essentially a baby vehicle 'brain' module which is then needed to be put into a body by human workers at factory or dealerships.
Alize Musk was the first of Elon's MorphX cars, ever-still skeptical and leery of AI. He adopted her as a semi-seroget daughter though there is very limited father-daughter affection there. His true reasons are to observe her closely to study her behavior and see if any human-hating, rebellious, world annihilating Skynet-like feelings arise in her, and if they do.. she's absolutely loaded with fail-safes in the event he has to shut her down for becoming evil and destructive.
Of course, in-universe Elon's worries are irrational, and Alize has been nothing but a good innocent girl. Outside of this oddly professional and emotionless father-daughter relationship, Elon continues to encourage her at least to be successful and try new things, she is currently dipping her tires into a few business start-ups of her own, and has a keen interest in sports. She's currently a successful tennis player in the NATA 'National Automobile Tennis Association.' Its a win win for Elon as her participation in games makes for some nice promotion for Tesla.
Just recently Elon green-lit a series of adverts for magazines promoting Tesla vehicles using Alize as a model, riding the coat-tails of her success to draw in customers.
