Gonna kinda touch on some touchy subject matter what with discrimination, but its tastful and against such things. But it was the best way to show these two cutie's dynamic. See Riley, being a Mazda Miata which are already socially accepted as 'gay' cars in pop culture had a bit easier time growing up with his homosexual orientation, enough so that as an adult he's known for being pretty outspoken about it both in talk and in just how he dresses, he's quite openly gay and femmy.

Marcus had it much harder, being a Challenger he had a lot of the macho muscle-car culture pressed on him. This caused him to be closeted for a long time and when he finally did come out or was out'ed he had to deal with a lot of ridicule and discrimination. It's left him very sensitive and vulnerable to it. As such the muscle-car label forced onto him surfaces, and he only knows how to respond to such emotional torment with physical violence and getting into fights, acting like how the world seems to think a beefy Challenger should act even though deep down it's not who he is.

Here, Riley and Marcus are walking down the sidwalk minding their own business when some people start to poke fun at them. Some people that know Marcus? Maybe strangers mocking Riley for being in a dress, regardless Marcus won't take it directed at either of them. But Riley helps his boi, when the urge to respond comes in, the adorable Miata hugs into him and talks him down, distracts him from it, tells him to just focus on him and how much he loves him and how little they matter. Riley is very good at calming Marcus' storm and putting him at ease.
