Didn't matter if you were out playing in the rain, walking through a puddle of cold water, outside in the wind or standing in front of an open window. We were gonna catch our death! I believe it comes from a time where colds caused alot of ppl esp children and elders to go into pneumonia. This was a time before penicillin. Hope this helps, Blessings and Angels
