This felt like better writing than the Star Wars mom death turn evil trope though. Mostly because it was foreshadowed when Junpei mentioned her to the guy with two colored eyes. Then he and the human that hangs out with the curses said at the end that they placed the finger there themselves, which in turn attracted the curse that killed Junpei's mom. It was also just paced better but you can't compare them to well anyway since Star Wars are movies and not episode length TV series. This show is pretty dope though.
