Not only the animals are long even the whole Arc feels Long because its a freaking cringefest... I just realize Oda might have that intended, If so its brilliant. Anyway after this Arc you gonna See the next big Saga which is a Fan favorite and its awesome. Also yeah Jonathan knows His Shit xD

I think people are eager to get to their favorite parts of the series, which I can relate to.... but I personally dont think you need to skip anything. They are not that long and we will be watching this show for a LONG time anyways, why rush?

Jonathan mentioned Admiral Akainu, supposedly his mentor in the anime universe (since Jonathan is not manga canon). Crazy that they mentioned that rank in a filler this early.

This is exactly what I think Oda wants us to notice. Most Marines are not bad guys. Justice is not always clearly black and white. It usually depends on perspective.

I think its best to stick with these fillers some of these fillers like Foxy will come back to the story. I think most of us won't mind, most reasons is because they just wanted you to advance on the series that's why 🤣.

I hope from this filler arc you'll realise that in one piece, justice and evil is just a matter of perspective. This comes from the fact that you said that Jonathan is not 'as bad as' another villain. I believe this too is shown when Luffy saved Zoro from Morgan earlier in the series. Also, if you compared Jonathan, Morgan and Smoker, you'll notice there's difference in how they uphold justice. Personally, I would say Smoker stands for rebellious justice and Morgan is foul (?) justice. While Jonathan would be prudent justice.

You probably think the animation is cleaner because this was the first episode natively made in 1080p, the others until now were just remastered episodes. One thing I wanted to point out is how the ended the filler arc on the octopus balloon, exactly as when the arc started, just so the story could progress exactly from were the manga left off, as there obviously the octopus balloon didn't popped off above G8
