Oda doesnt seem too crazy about power scaling, I think what we are supposed to gather from those scenes is that Noland is an experienced adventurer and with the right motivation can tap into crazy strength. That ability to call upon hidden strength is something Oda seems to enjoy in his hero characters/captains/ etc. If you look into power scaling too far in One Piece you will find inconsistency, and I dont get the impression Oda cares. I agree though that Nolands strength is interesting and would love to see more of his adventures!

What's interesting; that I haven't heard anyone mention yet, is that Noland is stronger than Zoro at this point. Zoro had a hard time killing that sky shark and had to punch in the end after struggling. while Noland killed a sea king with the sword easily and even mentioned how he was a bit rusty. Zoro also couldn't even put a scratch on the giant snake but Noland could cut it's head off. Kalgara was also about as strong as Noland(Kalgara threw that huge metal ball and chain). I just find all this very interesting.

And again I drop my vote for "If-I'm-going-to-another-filler-liker-G8-I'm-gonna-die disease XD Actually I was so happy when I caught up and figured I havnet watch the Fillers. they are not bad, but there is absolutely no poit to watch them now. You can easily watch them as longer or slower movies from different time periods of the Straw Hats. I really liked to go back in time to watch how they where then:)

I was laughing pretty hard at you thinking that the whole village got triggered because Noland had a wife. Such a great flashback though. Also you have actually guessed a decent bit of future things I've noticed, usually small stuff. I try not to do that personally, because I feel I enjoy a series more if I don't try to predict stuff. You aren't bad at it though usually, but then occasionally are way off in funny ways lol

Oda is the greatest. The way he slowly feeds you peices of the story in disguise, and then gives the last peices of the puzzle to sudden make a complete picture, making you very invested in the climax and thus the payoff is great.

Yeah Odas storytelling is insane starting off with the simple bell Luffy wants to ring for Malon Noland ending up to be stuffed with lots and lots and lots of history. Another sweet twist is that Vyper actually wants the same as Luffy wants, ringing the bell for Nolands ancestor. Noone can give so much meaning to everything as Oda does as everything is part of the greater puzzle of the world, their people and their stories. Everything just fits together so well. Next two episodes will be great. Also also the Shandians are not only a hommage for the native americans but also for the aztecs and the myth of the golden aztecian city.

No matter how amazing an Flashback may be, Oda always has a way of making them sad. But this is still my favorite flashback in the series
