2021-06-19 18:40:36 +0000 UTCI cannot over-recommend Star Driver, the other anime done by the same director and writer as Ouran, with Mamoru Miyano of course in the lead role. It's an anime original that lovingly parodies a whole pile of genres (mecha, magical girl, slice-of-life, etc.) in the same way that Ouran did with reverse-harem. Genre-busting and absolutely brilliant (not to mention completely gorgeous-looking), it is my absolute favourite anime of all time. The official crunchyroll subs are unfortunately a disaster, but ggsubs's original subs or one of the others that tweaked gg's a bit are around and worth checking out.
