Kind of a late reply, but Yggdrassil was actually like those games you mentioned at the end, but 100x worse. It was heavily pay to win and very exploitative. The novels give some details about the real world in this future and its very dystopian, most people outside the big wig CEO's working is near literal slave conditions and the air so polluted and toxic you need safety equipment to go outside. Yggdrassil was Momonga's only real escape from his pitiful life.

He is definitely human and everything he says is just roleplay to live up to the expectations the guardians have of him. Also just as u mentioned in this video, he says some stuff in order to make his guardians follow his plans. He doesnt want to hurt good humans so he told albedo that in order for her to understand that she shouldnt hurt the villagers and that not all humans are low life forms. Its his way to lead his guardians while keeping himself up as a respectable leader.

Not a spoiler: First off, yes the Staff of Ainz ooal Gown is a super crazy OP item, there are a few more, that are really OP, Ainz has a few items that are super crazy and have cool names like "Depiction of Nature and Society, Avarice and Selfless, Blood Sucking Meat Devourer, One of Twenty, etc." im not telling more about them, but the items with names like this can be considered very powerful, if it is not named, its pretty much a cheap useless item to Ainz

The item tier list in yggdrasil were as follows (weakest to strongest). Low Class, Middle Class, High Class, Legacy Class, relic Class, Legendary class, Divine Class, World Class, and World-Champion Class.

I think he's anime only, so maybe he won't. But I hope he reads them on his own time.

If you truly love this series I would highly recommend you read the novels. They are basically a extended cut of the anime in a way. The 3 seasons of Overlord follow along with the first 9 books. Any further goes beyond the anime. But hearing you talk about your love for these types of games I think you'd love the novels even more.

he does have humanity in him, I'd even say he's more human inside than not. Although it has been tainted and his feelings towards death have been numbed. A lot of the things he does and say, is actual RP, because he wants to live up to the expectation the guardian have of him.
