Hi Aaron, Not sure if someone has explain this to you or not. The reason why the young Joseon King decided to execute him and his entire family/household was because his victory in war after war as king's General made him popular and influential. Citizens even call him as god (Shin means god). The king's advisor (an eunuch) also keep edging him on it and said his popularity and influence on the citizens is a mockery to the throne. Hence, the young jealous king considered this as a treason and called him a traitor. Take note that all his family members are executed. This include the girl who asked him to keep on walking towards the king and said "I'm fine, keep on walking, general". The girl is the queen of that young king.
