2023-06-25 17:56:18 +0000 UTCyup same as any mmorpg, if you pull to many mobs, you ll end up dead if you dont have enough potions or dmg to outscale the pull. sure pulling a couple increases your lvling efficiency. but have a swarm like that on you , ll eventually get you killed even if they are lower lvl or within you lvl range.

SAO started out as a one-shot novel for the Dengeki Novel Prize with a strict page limit, it starts with the content of episode 8, with a short flashback to day 1, and then goes straight for the end, everything else is side stories Reki Kawahara wrote later on. There simply was no more material to adapt when the anime came out and it's not like they have a good track record of making good anime original additions and changes, rather aside from Ordinal Scale and the Aria of a Startless Night movie, nearly everything they added or changed just reduced the quality of the story and characters.

It's because to keep up the lie that he was around their level he had to withhold information from them, he power leveled them but he didn't give them information that would have been weird for someone on their level to have. (In the novel) Before they entered the room Kirito was vocal about ignoring it, but he wasn't able to give a proper reason as to why when asked, because suddenly he would be forced to reveal that he lied. He, being the socially inept dork he is (at least in the novels, the anime tries to display that dork as as some broody lone wolf), could only stutter and emphasize that it looked dangerous. Because of that they ignored his judgment and went ahead anyway, if he had revealed his level and the wealth of information he had, his word would have carried more weight and they would have likely listened to him, because they would assume he knows better. Kirito killed all those mobs by himself because the second he realized what kind of trap it is, he was desperate to somehow save the situation and broke out the high level sword skills that he has been hiding up to that point, but once the trap was sprung it was too late. No the enemies didn't scale to Kirito's level, if they did Kirito would have likely died as well.

By saying that, it gave those guys the false sense of security thinking they are around Kiritos power level and can handle similar things Kirito can. I mean they all died and since he survied that means he killed all those mobs by himself which actually shows the gap in power between them
