People always seem to wonder why Mjollmire was there in Tempest, but time had passed since Rimuru had last seen him in Engrassia. Since he's working with Tempest, he's been traveling back and forth from Blumund to Tempest. Rimuru got all the humans out of town by using an opening to connect two places that he made, which is a more basic form of transport than the pre-built gates, and the spacial transport skill that he has now. Also in Japanese, "maou" is technically Demon King, and is frequently translated as Demon Lord. The "ou" part is king, the same word Rimuru used when he asked Youm to become the new king of Falmouth.
