Demons live in the demon world where they are constantly fighting for supremacy. But their age has a lot to do with their strength as well as whether they remain undefeated. They are spiritual beings. They need to be summoned to the material world to get a material body, but usually it is temporary, which is why Kuro/Black says this payment will last for only 3 days, which came from the bodies of the Silver Wings. After thet they have to return to the demon world. But the main payment is the souls. But they will bargain for other types of payment too. They basically don't do anything without payment. A lesser demon is are the monster -looking demons, and they can rise up to greater demons. They become Archdemons when they get a name. The demon society is strictly hierarchical. A few demons have got their names from the people. Kuro is a progenitor aka primordial demon, basically an original demon who by definition are the oldest demons. Few people are aware of their existence. They are not typically demon lords. Diablo just means demon or devil in Spanish.

I suggest you watch the first 2 minutes of Ep. 24.9 because there is an important scene which for reasons I don't understand people rarely mention it. The rest is recap.

After this there are 5 OVAs, the first two aren't that important but the last 3 get referenced and introduce some characters that appear at the start of S2. After that Slime Diaries would be good if you want more of the slice of life, nation building and characterization/development, it might be a spin-off but it brings back some of the depth that some characters lost when the anime was adapted from Light Novel to anime. Well if you aren't interested you can also go straight to S2, though I feel that the added screen time and depth for some characters does add some impact to some events in S2.

As far as the order goes, next would be the ova which consists of 5 episodes. Then after that you either go to slime diaries (slice of life character development) or season 2 part1 and part 2 (main story) depending on what you and the community want. They don't spoil eachother so it's pure preference. Finally you would watch the movie which became available about 3 days ago. I also wanted to say that I'm Loving the reactions, they add a lot to the show in my opinion.

no i just looked at the next episode and its veldoras journal. Its an episode tthat recounts the whole series. I would watch the 3 ovas rimuris a teacher than go to season 2.

Dragon

The 5 OVAs takes place during season 1 so you can watch it before season 2. The first 2 are just side stories, but you will enjoy them. The last 3 are part of a single story and I definitely recommended.

The next episode is a recap, but I recommend watching the first few minutes because it does explain the cliffhanger bit at the end of episode 7 of what happened after Rimuru absorb Ifrit.
