2025-05-24 23:00:49 +0000 UTCRay Wise is a treasure, he is such a wonderful actor! I am really glad that we got to see the real Leland in the end! We as an audience really needed that and I think his story wouldn't be that good without it and the humanity of it. Ray was actually really bothered when he found out Leland is the killer. The existence of this scene is what allowed him to do it and play the role in such a way the last three episodes. I hope that comment didn't have spoilers for you, as watching this episode I see Cooper mentioning the same leads to Leland being Bob as the ones I mentioned in the comment. I guess these connections somehow really stuck in my mind :), and I didn't remember Coop says them here as well. The other comments have been mixed about the rest of the show, but I think you'll enjoy it and it still has so much to bring :)! I think after this episode is generally a good time to watch the movie, Fire Walk with Me, while Leland's and Laura's story is still fresh in your mind. But it does have some spoilers for the rest of the show in its last few minutes. The safer bet is to watch it after season 2 (and definitely before The Return season), but before you do do watch the key parts of these Leland episodes once again, especially this final scene, to remember the story. The movie will make many elements of it click even better. In the movie you would see more of Ray's talent, but also Sheryl Lee is just so amazing playing Laura! I have no idea how she wasn't nominated for Oscar! She certainly gave her heart in that role :). One more thing (for when you get to it) is that the movie must absolutely be watched together with Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces, which includes an hour and a half of deleted scenes from the movie, which actually add even more depth to the story and some things make much more sense with it. Some of Sheryl's best acting is also in it. There are good fan attempts to mix the scenes with the original movie, though Lynch decided these scenes should be watched separately when they were released.
