My Bloody Valentine (1981) UNCUT

The early 80s were awesome for slashers and this was always one of my favorites. He Knows You're Alone (1980) and The Prowler (1981) are also worth a view.

The "Canadian" accent really changes coast to coast - this is filmed on the very eastern side of Nova Scotia, which is closer to where I'm from (Newfoundland). Newfoundland has a lot more of an irish influence than a british one when it comes to accents so we sound different from the rest of Canada as does Nova Scotia. Even in Newfoundland the accents are different all over the province. It's funny that way haha!

This was actually a kind of charming horror movie if there can be such a thing. I liked seeing this little industrial town in another part of the world I know so little about and the town folk seemed innocent friendly people but the town had a dark past from 20 years ago. I was a bit confused in first part of the movie as I was not sure if this was in America but the accents were kind of different so after pausing the movie and looking up it I see it mostly Canadian, but not a part of Canada I know about. I was fascinated by TJ's accent. I thought if this is Canada it sounds a bit different to British Columbia Canadians. I am really a novice about this Canada thing as I assumed most of the other side of Canada spoke French. TJ kind of made me think I had seen him in some British tv shows or movies from this era but no, he clearly in Canadian. I look up after the movie was over his name as Paul Kelman and it actually says he was born in London. But his family moved to Canada. I actually turned on the subtitles half way through (when I figured out how to do it on this site). I was missing the odd word here and there with the accents. Now I know how people feel watching some of my own Australians movies and sometimes not understanding some of the slang words. But I just enjoyed hearing these accents I was not aware of before. I assume it is Nova Scotia as I thought I heard you, Alex, mention something about that at start of the movie. The end was kind of weird when it is was not the expected killer but ironically the character Axel with a pick axe most of the killings... So I assume Harvey killed his Dad when he was a boy but he blamed the whole town for why it all happened. Did not understand that but I guess he is just insane. I loved seeing what it looked like in this town in 1981. Old telephone booths and old pinball machines. The clothes , the hair and the cars. All fun stuff. A charming horror. Who knew?

will never look at hotdogs the same lol

I'd definitely prefer to find out a fish had been in the percolator after sipping some coffee over finding out the circumstances those hot dogs had been exposed to.🤢🤣Happy valentines day.💘
