Progress Report #17 - May 2, 2022

Howdy folks,

Thank you for your patience on this week's update. As you may have seen on Discord, I am now the proud papa of 2 3090's. I got the second one in yesterday and needed to do some testing and setup so I wanted to get that in the bag so I could get back to work. A sincere thank you to you all who have stuck around in the early stages. Your continued belief and support in us made me confident that the investment would be worthwhile.

This week was a little bit slower than normal on my end. My brother and niece made a surprise visit on Monday night so I lost that evening and most of Tuesday due to having to catch up on day job stuff. So, I don't have scene 4 in the bag. But as the attached shows, we are very close to closing time.

My current estimate is about 30 more renders to finish out the scene. Maybe a bit less. We currently are sitting on 284 renders so I expect we'll end up with a little over 300 renders for this scene. I estimate I'll be done by Thursday morning.

No new news from Puggy this week as he's still toiling away with Chasing Sunsets. He's got a good chunk of the last new animation underway though. It looks fantastic.

So, with the new 3090 I've actually cut most of the renders I've done so far in half time wise. Hopefully that holds up and I can go from 7-8 to 14-15 renders a night, if not more. Tonight is gonna be the first real test of seeing if I can get up to that. I'll be able to eventually and have gotten up to 30 done in one day but that was working a full 14 hour day doing them. I should get up to speed in no time.

So, since it's been a while and I promised. It makes me sad that scene 4 isn't done, but it will be soon!
