Pearl + image handler on saturday
Added 2025-11-13 17:39:39 +0000 UTCLv 10 Pearl is coming this saturday for subscribers. I will also start pushing level 10 for the public version at that time, with Beryl becoming public, and other characters in the following updates.
Something that took a bit of time was the implementation of a new image handler. I was using public hosts until now, but it could cause some issues. Notably, this change should make images load faster, avoid images being down, and solve the issue that appeared last month for UK residents becoming unable to play the game without using a VPN.
On a side note, a couple cards also get reworked and rebalanced, notably for Pearl. Completely reworked cards include Inner Demon (Amber), Limit Break (Ruby), High Tide (Pearl) and Prime Cut (Pearl).
After that, I'll spend a bit more time on balance, trying to make things a bit more fair and less frustrating regarding maze power 2 especially. Some of you may have noticed late maze power 2 could be tough for some characters for instance. Reworking shard balance, adding NPC interactions, animations, improve the feeling of growth, achievements, reworking a couple images (Beryl's hair, Amber's muscles...), adding a way to replay story fights, etc, are all planned as well for future updates.
Hopefully things get a bit faster, sorry about how long things took. My initial estimates were way off.

2025-11-15 16:37:18 +0000 UTCOverall too weak, but I didn't really want to buff it directly. With Update 3, I changed the balance of the game so as to limit scaling for both enemies and characters. Inner demon's effect can help you bypass that threshold, but only given enough time. This makes it a viable option for bosses, but pretty bad everywhere else. It's in a spot where I can't really balance for both. You could argue you can disable it if you don't want it, but overall I want every card to have an interesting niche, especially rare cards that should be buildarounds. Unlike traditional TCGs, you are forced to interact with all cards. Ruby's Limit Break faced the same issue.
