Post-update 3 thoughts

Update 3 dropped a bit over 24 hours ago, and brought its lot of core changes. I received a bunch of critical comment ranging from good to less good, and have been collecting my thoughts.

Before I start to work on the next update, I am going to spend a few days to polish the current system, tweaking a few numbers and mechanics in order to make it the best I can for the most people out there.
I intend to adjust exp and resource gain to make progress easier, to not make it a grind even if you're having trouble. I intend to change a bit reward gain in runs, notably to not make you manually fetch for shards and runes, so you can focus on your current run without having to worry about permanent resources; it was a interesting idea, but doesn't work that well in practice. I also intend to rework deck management a bit, make card rotation easier so you don't get stuck with subpar cards as easily. I'll also take a bit more time on Pearl specifically with this new system.

Apart from a few bugs I'm trying to fix here and there (those remaining shouldn't be debilitating), I don't think there is any major urgency to act at the moment, so I'm going to take a few days to polish that and send a patch later this week, maybe followed by another, hopefully adressing some of the criticism. Hopefully, the core I built is good enough and a few changes can go a long way.

I'm sorry for switching up things multiple times, but I hope you understand the process.

After that's done, I'll be working again on adding more growth and seggs!

I encountered the "Witch Doctor" for the first time... Can you please create a transformation for the girls where they become smaller than their original size?

After playing for a good while and finishing the story progression for 2 characters, I think my only gripe right now are shards. I could get 200-300 runes in a run and feel like I've made a ton of progress in upgrading cards but only get 100 shards and at best get a minor upgrade. I was thinking on it and maybe after level 6, XP gains can reward a ratio of shards instead as I don't think gaining XP after the cap does anything right now. Beyond that though, I think the difficulty is generally in a good spot and can be improved over time with some number tuning.
