It begins... - Gadabout EP2 Rework WIP#1

...and we're starting strongly with this 1 minute long clip :)
I'm impressed how fast I've managed to animate this WIP.. It seems that I've really grown with DM!

I had a lot of fun animating this.
Of course, the biggest difficulty here is Tina's walking cycle and her little bow but I think it turned out fine. The great thing is that I can use Tina's walking cycle for all DOA characters from now on!

I think the lighting and the environment breathes the exact atmosphere I wanted for the prologue, which is supposed to build up an eerie feeling from the very start and should fit nicely to the "depressing" conversation Lisa overhears from the little radio scanner.

I wish I could've implemented more lines between Lisa and Tina to be honest but.. I don't wanna overdo it. As you noticed, the script is already heavy enough. I think it's healthier to increase that little by little with each new project :)

There are some flickering issues with the models, unfortunately.. Lisa's eye lids cast a weird scattering shadow and Tina's clothes share a similiar problem. I should be able to correct that though.

So with 10 finished scenes, from which two are rather complex, we are progressing at a nice pace already! I think the prologue should be done next week, if everything runs smoothly. The remaining scenes aren't that complex, thankfully so :D;

What's next?
I am going to finish the remaining scenes of the prologue and, if I don't have to do some intense bureaucratic crap, I'd like to use my "learning day" to get to know the hammer tool of SFM in order to build my own maps without searching the SFM library for props which takes a loooooot of time. Building the environment with named tool is also way more efficient.
And of course I am going to share my results with you like always!
To round it all up, I hope I get to announce the release of DM next week ;)
