ROYAL REWARD: The Toy Witch Plays With: Monster Musume (Toy TF, Monster Musume)

The air whistled past Theodora Berenstain’s face as she swept her broom over the pristine modern city below her, eyes spinning in search of someone fun to play with. She had plenty of targets to choose from–the city was packed with people, but for some strange (if not exactly unfamiliar) reason, she couldn’t make a decision.

“Hmmmm. Hmmmmmmm… Hmmmmm… (Hmmm…).” Slowing to a near stop in the air, she spun in a circle, groaning. “Argh! Why is it so hard to choooose?!”

“Goodbye, master! Take care!”

A voice from below snatched the Toy Witch’s attention downward. Squinting, she found herself hovering over some of the strangest individuals she’d ever seen: one looked like a generic adult male–but the other three… One had bird’s feet and bright blue wings for arms, one had a long red snaketail in place of her legs, and the third seemed to have fused with a horse. Making sure her invisibility cloak was still in place, Teddy floated down to get a better look at them.

“Come on,” said the one with the snaketail. “I’ve cooked something special for us!” Together, the three of them turned back to the house.

Teddy watched them with a strange expression. “A snake, a horsey, and a big, dumb bird.” A smile crept onto her face. “They’ll be so much fun to play with!” With a laugh, she snatched her cheap plastic wand from her belt and took aim at the blue-feathered birdgirl. “You’ll make an excellent plushie!” She gave it a shake.

A stream of sparkles flew from the wand’s tip and spiraled through the air towards the ignorant bluebird. As it coiled around her, a cocoon of glitter, she had one last instant to squeak in surprise before-POOF–she dropped to the ground as a fat, plushie bird, bright blue all over. Striking the asphalt, she bounced with a squeak and lay silent.

“Papi!” cried the snakewoman, rearing upright. The horselady reared up too, as if to kick someone, but none of that mattered to Teddy–it wasn’t as if they knew where she was. Floating above them, she shook her wand with a smirk, and a shower of sparkles spilled from its tip to coat the two of them. “I’m going to enjoy playing with you so much.” She giggled.

As the dust coated their forms, Snakey and Horsey squealed and spun around in search of the source. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the common sense to look up. Not until it was too late, at any rate:

Pop! The tip of snake’s tail turned to hard plastic. Wiggling it in front of her face, she blinked in shock. “E-eh?”

Pop! In the same instant, Horsey’s legs snapped straight and hardened into wood, refusing to let her move them at all. “Wh-what is–?”

Pop! Snake’s tail stretched really thin, turned shiny and metallic, and coiled to form a gigantic spring between the tip of her tail and her torso. She fell to the ground with a scream, struggling to move, as it lost the ability to support her. “H-hey!”

Pop! Beside her, two beams of curved wood appeared between Horsey’s legs, leaving her squealing in surprise and rocking back and forth. “Who’s doing this?”

On cue, the Toy Witch dropped her invisibility cloak and floated down to the two of them. “It’s me!” she cried cheerfully. “Are you having fun yet?!”

“What are you doing to us?!” cried the snakegirl, trying and failing to push herself off the ground. “Stop!”

“Please!” cried Horsina. “Please, you have to–!”

“Oh, I can’t stop yet,” said Theodora, head cocked in confusion. “If I stopped now, you’d just be half-toys! That’d just be stupid!” Snatching up the bird plushie, she hugged it to her chest. “I want you to be real toys, like your friend!”

She squeezed her. “Papi!” said the bird doll, somewhat statically.

Horsey and Snakey stared at her in terror.

“Now,” said the Toy Witch, “let’s finish you off.” Waving her wand in a big circle, she dusted them in a fresh coating of sparkles. “Enjoy!”

The two of them had just enough time to panic before–

Pop! Snake’s mouth snapped into a wild grin. An instant later, it and her torso turned to solid plastic. Falling flat against the ground, she lay there silent and unmoving.

Pop! Nearby, Horsey found her own mouth forced into a grin, while her arms raised themselves as if holding a ball. Her eyes trembled in their sockets, her only remaining means of expression. Then, with another pop, her entire body turned to painted wood, face and all.

Teddy waved her wand over the two, and with one last pop, they shrank to a more appropriate size for their new forms.

Floating down to the ground, she hopped off her broom and took a look at them: where the pair had been standing, there was little more than a strangely-designed rocking horse and cute little slinky snake, their plastic smiles wide in mindless pleasure.

“I did it!” she cried, snatching up the snake. “And they look so cute!”

Hopping onto the horse’s back, she grabbed her shoulders and set her swinging back and forth. Meanwhile, she squeezed Snakey’s head and tail and stretched them apart, smirking to herself as the spring connecting them was drawn taut. “Hehehehehe.” Using her magic, she had the snake stretch as far as it could go, which turned out to be several meters. Finally, she released her spell, and the snake snapped back together with an ophidian rattle.

Bored of her, Teddy flung herself aside without a thought, grabbed Miss Horsey’s shoulders and started to rock her even harder, squealing in delight as the centaur swung back and forth. “Harder! Harder! Wheeeeeeee!”

Naturally, it took her all of ten seconds to rock too hard and fling herself into the dirt. Sitting up, she took in the scrape on her knee and snivelled, her eyes filling with tears. “This world sucks! I hate it! I’m going to find one that’s actually fun!” Wiping her eyes, she turned and stomped back to her broom, kicking the bluebird doll into the bushes as she passed it.

As she sailed back into the sky, the rocking horse swung a few final times and settled sadly to a stop.
