Long comment ahead, I type as I watch The center of the signal song has absolutely nothing with singing ability since they always lipsync it. It's just that she needs to be able to captivate and audience which is what Sakura does. The votes could've definitely been rigged by production but it also makes sense that the Japanese trainees would for a Japanese idol to represent them. I agree that the center doesn't really matter much when watching on a screen (unless they get more screentime than the rest in the full performance). Especially since there are fancams for each of the contestants. A lot of fans pit Jurina and Sakura against each other because of some AKB48 history so I feel like Jurina tried to avoid that by not picking Sakura for Peekaboo, and I think that was smart to do. The producers would love to milk the "rivalry" and it wouldn't benefit her since she has a stronger image than Sakura and strong images don't do well in survival shows. One "bad" look and she'd be the villain. Nako definitely deserved to have more lines in iz*one. Also if you want to know what people thought at this time about certain contestants: People hated that Sakura was being treated as a favorite by the show runners because they believed that other trainees deserved it more added to the fact that she's Japanese. So she was being bashed on pretty much every platform that I had access to. I don't know what Japanese netizens were saying about her. The Boombaya team 1 was being hated because they planned to choose the weakest team to challenge. People thought it was underhanded. Nako's popularity boomed after this high note. Because of how mnet edited that note from Gyuri, she received A LOT of hate. Thanks for the upload!

I think she was the center for one of the AKB comebacks, so good for her and then alexa actually made a vid about the realities behind pd48 on her youtube channel!

2024-07-31 00:13:53 +0000 UTC5:47 so Erii mentioned in an interview some time later that she and some of the other AKB48 girls didn't even know they were going to Korea to be on a survival show like this. So this poor girl was basically sent to a foregin country and put on probably one of the most stressful situations a trainee can go through without even knowing this is what it actually was. 12:59 Hongki mentioned right before this that she had a scheduling conflict. The Japanese girls would periodically disappear from the show because of prior AKB48 obligations. Sidenote: idk if anyone mentioned this, Nako's first evaluation performance was never uploaded by MNet, I've heard people say it's because the song she performed wasn't appropriate or they didn't get the rights to use it on the show, we don't know the actual reason. So we never find out why Nako was in F-class in the first place And yes, Alexa is on this show but she basically got 3 sec of screen time so a lot of people forgot she was here xD Yes Nako basically singlehandedly saved her group with her 330 votes. I believe they have an audience of 1,000 people casting votes and they vote for 1 girl amongst both groups. So 330 people voted for Nako meaning 1/3 of the audience liked her the best which, it impressive seeing as there's 12 girls to vote for. This was the moment Nako secured her spot in IZ*ONE :) Just a sidenote, I think you mentioned it in the previous episode on how some of the IZ*One members haven't gotten any screen time, some of the girls didn't get major focus until later on in the show. Unlike boys planet where the rankings were pretty consistent throughout the show, the rankings here do change quite a bit week to week.
