2025-11-15 15:31:43 +0000 UTCPeople have to remember that Naruto was a weekly series. So instead of padding out the time with long drawn out scenes of characters staring at each other making grunting noises, like in DBZ, Naruto uses flashbacks to pad the time.

I understand you are watching these back to back and don't need the recaps and flashbacks. But Naruto aired on a weekly basis, and we needed the flashbacks back then. Sure, you don't need the flashbacks when you are binge watching it, but when Naruto was animated, it wasn't made with a binge viewer in mind. Having a 7 day break between a single 20 minute episode made flashbacks very helpful.
