Daily Short: System 11
Added 2022-11-23 09:01:49 +0000 UTCNumbers were tricky when they started deviating from cold complex quantum mechanics. The Law of Numbers was well known among any race that could reach the stars. A high-level practitioner of the Art was exemplary. Like most things dealing with Numbers, the more of them that existed, the more accurate a picture could become. To that end, Wilson understood them to the degree that removed all doubt.
Calculations flowed fast, directing the expansion of Empires, the fall of Kingdoms, the concentration of Power, and the vigilant watch for Chaos. This far from the edge of Reality and the Anomaly, there was almost no chance of encountering Chaos. However, Wilson didn’t halt his constant vigilance. Unlike mortal races, he never grew tired or needed a bathroom break.
Had he been one of the less effective Cultivation Divines, the breach would have gone unnoticed—a sliver of the Chaos Sea connected to the Prison Plane bypassing Dust. Wilson reacted immediately, sealing the entire Northern area. Even as the Breach attempted to increase in size, five of his Avatars had already surrounded the tear. Even as he fought the Chaos Spawn, multiple other threads of his existence were weaving a fractal mesh isolating the Breach.
Precious seconds in battle tilted the entire affair in Wilson’s favor. He carved a box out of Reality, severing the contaminated area from the Prison Plane. Countless lives were lost in the process, doomed to be consumed by Dust. However, numerous more were saved. Casting the sealed portion of space upwards, the eldritch primordial entity destroyed it.
With that taken care of, Wilson cast his mind through records of possible replacements before he settled on one. With a twist, several entire worlds were consumed. He replaced the lost lands with a sizeable new patch seamlessly integrated. A few alterations and different races were distributed into the Wild.
The new lands contained a rather interesting version of Mana that required being mixed in portions. The users of this variant of mana used it for childish tricks and murderous missions. Wilson watched as the fighters used hand signs of all things to cast their Spells. It was insanely amusing to watch. Even worse, none of them seemed to understand how to use mana to reinforce their bodies effectively. Even with such barbaric practices, there were still some interesting tidbits. Someone had found a way to Enchant different Bloodlines for various groups.
Attaching the mana runes to the blood is rather ingenious. Wilson thought as they looked closer. It is bizarre how they can be so advanced yet still throw sharp metal objects to kill each other.
Pondering for a bit, Wilson decided to intervene. As they were now, these humans would be absorbed without a chance to resist. With a bit of thought, a few books on Enchanting found their way to into curious young hands. Wilson took deep pleasure in making the books Soul-Bonded. From the casual way murder and torture were used as information extraction tools, it was the least he could do.
I’ll drop a word to Eve about this nation. Wilson said, watching the children use the information provided to make explosive talismans. She can straighten any issues out when she’s traveling later.

Wilson was reminding me of Felix back when he was mostly taking care of flood dragon matriarch. If I'm remembering correctly he was also dedicated in his use of numbers. Thinking about dungeon cores made me think that are similar to the system cores on vastly different scales. A dungeon being similar to its own dimension but limited to the one instead of a multitude of vastly larger dimension the system cores govern.
