Here is a theme inspired by a Japanese national holiday and something I celebrated with my family growing up... Children's day! We didn't do too many activities for this holiday, but I remember my dad tried his best before work to prepare cute bentos for my school lunch. Not just for Children's Day, but throughout middle school and high school he would make a variety of lunches. I appreciate the early mornings he spent to make them special like adding creative details with cookie cutters to make flower-shaped ham or carrots. As a kid, I loved meal time and seeing the "surprise" in my lunchbox 🍱 It's different looking back at these memories now, as I understand what effort and time it takes to put into these lunches (thank you Pops) 🧡
